“Our goal is to curate a three day event that asserts the por of Her within street dance: by spotlighting various women of different creative backgrounds to deliver inspiration, perspective and knowledge through a series of presentations.”
Why Her Power?
Her Power is a response to the lack of support for women in our Sacramento street dance community. Our team came together to produce a three-day experience to empower and elevate the represention of women in our cultrure. to reiterate their vallue and contribution.
Our Goal
Our goal is to inspite the young community of dancers and creatives by highlighting the stories and experiences of women in our community. We aim to pave the way for all young peoploe to feel validated and supported in their creative endavors- with speical attention to the inequalities and obstacles they may face.
In 2019, when we launched this event, we brought out talent from Japan, Germany, Toronto, LA, Las Vegas, The Bay and more- to share their sotires and experiences in the industiry, providing insight and knowledhe to the young participants. The majority of attendees are between the ages of 16-25 years old. We understand that these are the pivotal years of figuring out how to approach freams and ambitions & that is why we curate this event and bring out such valuable talent(s) so that our young community can learn from talented and insightful creatives that they usually wouldnt have access to. Ultimately we want to inspire, empower and equip our young people.

Since 2010, DAM Events has provided developing artists the opportunities they need to strengthen and showcase their talent, as well as connections to industry professionals who are key to launching careers in the arts.
DAM Events is forging a new creative culture in which professional local artists are given the tools and network of support they need to cultivate work with greater purpose. Our events showcase a broad range of new and under-represented Bay Area talent as well as well established talent, providing them with connections, resources, and opportunities to continue developing and sharing their craft. We thrive on positivity and diversity, giving creatives of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds an empowering community in which to share their work.

AS A NEW AND EMERGING FLEA MARKET, WE STARTED AT MY GRANDMAS STORE IN THE CITY OF WHITTIER, I TAKE PRIDE IN PROVIDING A PLACE FOR SMALL BUSINESSES TO GROW. IT WAS EVEN MORE IMPORTANT TO CREATE SOMETHING THAT MY FAMILY, FRIENDS, AND NEIGHBORS COULD ENJOY. VISITING THE SWAP MEETS AND FLEA MARKETS WITH MY FAMILY WAS A STAPLE IN MY CHILDHOOD, BUT WE ALWAYS HAD TO GO SEVERAL CITIES OVER.
IN AUGUST 2020 WE SOUGHT TO CHANGE THAT PROBLEM. AS A FIRST-GENERATION AMERICAN I UNDERSTAND THE POSITIVE IMPACT A COMMUNITY CAN HAVE ON A BUSINESS. IT IS OUR MISSION @562FLEA TO GIVE OPPORTUNITIES TO SMALL BUSINESS OWNERS AND CONNECTIONS IN OUR OWN BACKYARD. IN ADDITION, IT IS OUR PRIORITY TO BRING AN END TO INEQUALITY IN OUR MARKET COMMUNITY. WE PRIORITIZE FINDING SELLERS WHO IDENTIFY- BUT ARE NOT EXCLUDED TO- WOMEN, BIPOC, AND LGBTQ+ PERSONS. ALLIES ARE ALWAYS WELCOMED.
